REVIEW: Night Fever Series by Jessica Hawkins @jess_hawk

Night Fever Series by Jessica Hawkins
Erotic Romance Serial Series

Lola’s heart already belongs to Johnny, but for him, she’d sell the devil her soul. Unfortunately, the devil wants something else.
When Lola Winters, a fiery waitress on California’s Sunset Strip, meets a sexy stranger outside the bar where she works, she has no idea her life is about to change. Despite the fact that Lola’s boyfriend is right inside, Beau Olivier’s interest in her is unwavering. Because unbeknownst to her, he’s decided he wants Lola. And in order to get her, he’s willing to make Lola and Johnny’s dreams come true.

A sordid proposition. A chance at a better life. A seduction that walks the line between comfort and humiliation, desire and resistance. He will own her—for one night. She will be his—for a price. Everyone involved knows it’s wrong. But is that enough to stop them?

Sex, music, neon on the Sunset Strip—right in the middle of it all, he would have her. Come sunrise, he would let her go. At least, that was the plan.

Night Fever is book one in the erotic-romance Night Fever Serial. Reader discretion is advised due to mature themes intended for an 18+ audience. 51,000 words.

Night Fever Serial reading order:
Night Fever (Night Fever 1)
Night Call (Night Fever 2)
Midnight (Night Fever 2.5)
Night Moves (Night Fever 3)
Night Edge (Night Fever 4)

Wow, so fans of Jessica Hawkins already know that she can write one hell of a sexy, heart-wrenching, sexy, thrilling, and “Did I mention SEXY?!” story, and she certainly does not disappoint with this addicting serial! Lola Winters was hit by a whirlwind when the gorgeous and too-wealthy-for-his-own-good Beau Olivier stormed into her world.  She was content with her life; long-time boyfriend Johnny was good to her, and they were working at the bar together and that was decent enough to keep them afloat. It was enough, right? Well, it was until something much…more…started shedding light on all of the dark, unflattering places in their life.

The Night Fever series follows Lola’s journey as her life is shaken from the very bottom up when Beau gives her and Johnny the offer of a lifetime.  This couple, who live paycheck to paycheck, dream of one day having more—owning the bar they work at, perhaps?  Yeah, it was a pipe dream until Beau decided that one night with Lola was worth more money than they could ever dream of having.  So there was the “indecent proposal” dilemma; was the life they’d dreamed of worth Lola giving her body to another man for the night?  I think any devoted man would have said “HELL NO!”, so when Lola and Johnny made the decision that her submitting to Beau’s whims was worth the money, Johnny started to pale in comparison big time for me.  The mysterious, cocky, domineering Beau Olivier won me over quickly anyway, so it was easy to dive into this and wrap my mind and heart around each and every spark-inducing moment he shared with Lola.  Even the scenes where Lola had her guard up and was frosty with him, there’s just a chemistry between her and Beau that’s so intense it draws you in at every step!

From the very start, as Beau wormed his way into Lola’s mind, body, and heart, it was a slow burn that ate away at what she saw for herself.  As this series goes on, we see little pieces of her chip away until a newer, stronger Lola emerges.  She’s no longer just “Johnny’s girl,” and it sends her into a tailspin that drags everyone with her.  There isn’t a moment in this 4.5-book serial where readers aren’t left either panting from the intensity of the steamy goodness that is Lola and Beau, or reeling from the shocking twists that Jessica Hawkins expertly weaves into their journey.  All is not as it seems, and trust me when I say your opinion of everyone in this story will change from one moment to the next.  Every time I finished an installment, I had to rush to the next because I simply HAD to know what was in store for Lola and Beau, and I loved every minute of it!  If you haven’t started Night Fever, I can’t recommend it highly enough, it’s an unforgettable steamy romance that will sweep readers away!

Quotes:

“All I can think of when I’m near you is how to get closer.”
“You’re practically on top of me.  You just fucked my tits for God’s sake.”
He nipped at her earlobe.  “And you just turned me to stone again with one sentence.” ~Loc 2081, Night Fever

She’d thought he couldn’t possibly possess her any more after their first night, but each time he was inside her, they became even closer.  Her chest stuttered, and her eyes welled.  She didn’t want to stop the kiss—she wouldn’t let him see her cry.  She was overwhelmed, and it clouded her mind.  Whatever was making her feel this way wouldn’t be fought off.  ~Loc 1468 , Night Call

She had no choice but to return to a place she didn’t want to.  She had to be the Lola he’d fallen for in the middle of the night.  The girl he’d touched as if she’d belonged to him rather than someone else.  The girl who’d looked up at the stars and wondered how long ago her feelings for Johnny had begun to change. ~Loc 1272, Night Moves

After all, that was how they’d gotten there, on a cliff, on the brink of their lives, as night fell over the Grand Canyon.  He’d seen a girl on a stage under a spotlight, and he’d known.  That one. I won’t stop until I have her. ~Loc 1930, Night Edge
