Twenty-one-year-old Aria Prince has just moved back to her hometown to start over after a painful divorce. She’s always prided herself on being an early bloomer, but had no idea she’d be married, divorced, and the mother of a toddler by twenty-one. Surely menopause was just a few months away, especially considering the hot flashes and night sweats. Or was that just exhaustion?
Unlike her friends who were at school, going to parties, and sowing their oats—wild and otherwise—Aria’s days were measured in the number of orders she took at her family’s restaurant, the chapters she read in her nursing text, the amount of Cheerios she cleaned up off the floor, and the wet kisses she received from her son.
And that was just fine with her.
But when she began running into her former best-friend Tristan Green—who was home taking care of his sick father—at every turn, she remembered what it felt like to be just Aria. Not a single mother, or sleep-deprived nursing student, or royal screw up. And though she didn’t even have time to shave her legs, let alone consider a sex life, Tristan makes an offer she’d be a fool to refuse.
Each day they’d give themselves to those who needed them. Every day – except Wednesday. Wednesday they’d take what they needed from each other.
Did she forget to mention Tristan was gorgeous?
Or that they hated each other?
Well, you know what they say about the line between love and hate … it’s a skinny-ass bitch. The question was, could they keep their feelings out of it?
Tristan had always wanted her and she, Tristan but all that changed when she went to prom with Alex, the all star quarterback. She became pregnant, married Alex, and moved away. Tristan also moved away and did a few start up businesses but now he's back home to take care of his ailing father.
And now Aria's back home with her sweet little Cade, divorce papers signed, and embarking on a new life. Tristan doesn't know she's back. He made his best friend Danny promise after graduation to never speak her name or Alex's. So imagine his surprise when he stops for his Wednesday groceries - Wednesday's are his evenings off from his dad's - and sees her. He totally blames Danny for not telling him. Of course, they keep running into each other all over town, the diner, at college, on the beach. Ahh, the beach. The beach house where they had their one and only kiss.
That same Wednesday after the grocery store incident Aria decides to go for a run - barefoot - on the beach. Well silly girl is very accident prone so, of course, she steps on a piece of glass only to be saved by Tristan - who else. He takes her to the beach house and all those memories come alive and shout at them both. The chemistry, the attraction, the want - it's all palpable. The following Wednesday is much the same so, when Tristan offers her every Wednesday - 52 of them to be exact - to have no strings attached, mind blowing, and off the charts sex; what does Aria do? Does she take a risk and follow her heart? Or does she listen to her head and turn him down again? What would you do?
This is a quick, hot, sexy, and funny at times read. I love the way Ms. James ties everything up at the end. There's no cliffhangers, no wait til next time. It really is a great read. I just wish it had been longer so we could have delved into Tristan's dominant side a little more ( I like the dark stuff). But other than that I loved it.
A fan of spunky women, gorgeous guys, and super-hot romance, Clare spends most of her time lost in books. She lives in Minneapolis with her two leading men—her husband and young son—and loves to hear from her fans.
