I love two men. I screw two men. I am in a relationship with them both, and they are both aware there is another. That is all they need to know, that is all I let them know. They don’t need to know a name; they don’t need to know anything but that they are not alone in my heart.

They have accepted the situation. Stewart, because his life is too busy for the sort of obligations that are required in a relationship. Paul, because he loves me too much to tell me no. And because my sexual appetite is such that one man has trouble keeping up.

So we exist, two parallel relationships, each running their own course, with no need for intersection or conflict. It works for us, for them, and for me. I don’t expect it to be a long-term situation. I know there is an expiration date on the easy perfection of our lives.

I should have paid more attention, should have looked around and noticed the woman who watched it all. She sat in the background and waited, tried to figure me out. Saw my two relationships, the love between us, and the moment that it all fell apart.

She hates me.
I don’t even know she exists.
She loves them. I love them.
And they love me.

EVERYTHING else hangs in the balance.

Ok, honestly...I wasn't sure what to expect based on the synopsis. I enjoyed it. I felt uncomfortable about their situation at times. And I was surprised by the twist in the story. So, yeah...I liked it.

What worked for me:
~I loved, loved Paul. I was rooting for him the whole time.
~Despite moments of discomfort, I understood how it would be possible for Madison to be in love with two people at the same time. Their relationship dynamic was certainly unusual and I kept waiting for a big explosion. And it came, but not in the way I had thought it would.
~I liked Stewart. He was definitely sexy and I liked his dominating style in the bedroom. But, I didn't connect with him in the way I did with Paul. Stewart was just a bit too detached for me, but I still liked him.
~The twist. I truly didn't see it coming, which is a shocker for me.
~The sex. It was hot. Hot. I would definitely say that there was a #moisturecontrolsituation while reading this one. Personal favorites were: the dinner party/restaurant scene, the weight bench, and pretty much any time with Paul. Purrrr.....

What didn't work for me:
~I felt that the time sequence jumped around a bit too much and too sporadically. It was disruptive at times to my reading flow.
~I feared that Dana was going to be some stalker chick and to a degree she was, which was fine. But, the switch from me perceiving her to be bad to good happened way too quick. I mean, I don't really think it's completely necessary to have a feeling about her either way, but I would have liked to have a more natural shift there.
~Here's where my perv comes out. I was slightly disappointed that there wasn't a sword fight. HOWEVER, with the way the story plays out, it wouldn't have worked. At. All. But still...

Overall, I got a book that was a bit unexpected. I read through it in one sitting and I had no urge to put it down. The sexy times made it especially delicious and just what I needed. If you're looking for a sexy read that holds a bit of surprise, check this one out.

Quotes:
~His brand of fucking is relentless, strong fucks in which he devours my body without restraint. It is what I have come here for-it is what I want. I need the domination, the edge of insanity that he barely holds in check. I need the madness in his eyes, the pure need that breathes through his body, the need only I can satisfy.-Loc 84

~They both own my heart now, an equal division fought over by two sets of blue eyes.-Loc 436

~But often, it is the forbidden that is the hottest, and the depraved that is the most arousing.-Loc 857

~There is a level when your heart breaks past the point of repair. When it shatters into pieces that cannot be glued back together.-Loc 1737

  2. Um...okay I can see why you were uncomfortable with it some. I'm not sure it would be for me anyway. Glad you mostly enjoyed. Yay for surprising you.
