Small Town Girl (Small Town #1) by Linda Cunningham-Adult Contemporary Romance
Publisher: Omnific Publishing
Release: November 11, 2011

When Lauren Smith begrudgingly returns to the small Vermont town where she grew up to arrange for the sale of her late grandmother’s old farmhouse, she has everything she’s always worked for. Lauren drives a Mercedes. She’s engaged to one of the most powerful businessmen in the country and wears a three-carat diamond ring to prove it. She lives in a penthouse on Central Park West.

Yes, Lauren has everything she considers important. She is smugly prepared for any eventuality in dealing with these country people so Lauren isn’t surprised when the hot water isn’t working at the old house. No problem. She simply looks in the phone book and calls the local plumber.

The moment Caleb Cochran steps through the old screen door to fix the hot water, the glittery facade that masquerades as Lauren’s life begins to crumble around her. Though she tries hard to deny their mutual, magnetic attraction, Lauren is finally forced to reevaluate her focus and come face-to-face with her true self. Small Town Girl is a story of discovering the true meaning of life and love.

The Boys of Summer by C.J. Duggan Excerpt & Giveaway

The Boys of Summer (Summer 1) by C. J. Duggan-NA Contemporary Romance

It seemed only natural to nickname them the ‘Onslow Boys’. Every time they swaggered in the front door of the Onslow Hotel after a hard week’s work, their laughter was loud and genuine as they settled onto their bar stools. I peeked through the restaurant partition, a flimsy divider between my world and theirs. I couldn’t help but smile whenever I saw them, saw him ... Toby Morrison.

Quiet seventeen-year-old Tess doesn’t relish the thought of a summertime job. She wants nothing more than to forget the past haunts of high school and have fun with her best friends before the dreaded Year Twelve begins.

To Tess, summer is when everything happens: riding bikes down to the lake, watching the fireworks at the Onslow Show and water bomb fights at the sweltering Sunday markets.

How did she let her friends talk her into working?

After first-shift disasters, rude, wealthy tourists and a taunting ex-boyfriend, Tess is convinced nothing good can come of working her summer away. However, Tess finds unlikely allies in a group of locals dubbed ‘The Onslow Boys’, who are old enough to drive cars, drink beer and not worry about curfews. Tess’s summer of working expands her world with a series of first times with new friends, forbidden love and heartbreaking chaos.

All with the one boy she has never been able to forget.

It will be a summer she will always remember.

IF YOU STAY by Courtney Cole: Author Interview, Favorite Quotes, & Giveaway

To see more stops on the tour, click on banner.

24-year old Pax Tate is an asshole.

He’s a tattooed, rock-hard bad-boy with a bad attitude to match.

But he’s got his reasons.

His mother died when Pax was seven, leaving a hole in his heart filled with guilt although he doesn’t understand why. What he does know is that he and his dad are left alone and with more issues than they can count.

As Pax grew up, he tried to be the kid his father always wanted; the perfect golden boy, but it didn’t work. His dad couldn’t overcome his grief long enough to notice and Pax couldn’t keep up the impossible perfect façade.

So he slipped far, far from it.

Now, he uses drugs and women to cope with the ugliness, the black void that he doesn’t want to deal with. If he pretends that the emptiness isn’t there, then it isn’t, right?

And it’s never more apparent than when he meets Mila.

Sweet, beautiful Mila Hill is the fresh air to his hardened frown, the beauty to his ugly heart. He doesn’t know how to not hurt her, but he quickly realizes that he’s got to figure it out because he needs her to breathe.

When memories of his mother’s death resurface from where he’s repressed them for so long, Mila is there to catch him when the guilt starts making sense. Mila is the one…the one who can save him from his broken troubled heart; from his issues, from the emptiness.

But only if he can stop being an asshole long enough to allow it.

He knows that. And he’s working on it.

But is that enough to make her stay?

**Warning -Contains sex and violence**

What was your favorite scene to write and why?
My favorite scene was the last one, because I was finally at ease with Pax. I finally wasn't on edge, wondering how his story was going to turn out or nervous about things I had to make him do. It was finally time to give him a happy ending and I loved being able to do that.

My second favorite scene is the paint scene. Because it was hot. :)

Courtney's Top 5 Quotes from IF YOU STAY
It's hard to choose favorite ones and some of my faves are ones that I shouldn't share because they'd give things away. But here are some that I love. Some of these are my favorites just because of where they are in the book or what they represent in the story.

~'She's like a breath of fresh air. I may be the big bad wolf, but even wolves need to breathe.'

~"Little Red Riding Hood?" Mila cocks an eyebrow at me, a whisper of a smile flitting across her full lips. I nod.
"For some reason, that's how I think of you," I admit to her. "You were strolling out on the beach, all alone, and came along just when I needed you."
"That would make you the Big Bad Wolf," she points out.
I laugh. "Now you're catching on."

~"You've seen me at my worst. Maybe you should see me at my best."
My words hang between us, heavy and charged and I don't know what the fuck I'm doing.
"When are you at your best?" she asks hesitantly. And I can see from the determined look on her face that she is intimidated. I'm impressed. She's like a kitten standing up to a lion.
"In bed." My answer is simple.

~'The night swallows me and I am propelled into the darkness, far above the clouds and into the night sky, sailing through the stars, past the moon. Reaching out, I touch it with a finger.
I laugh.
Or I think I laugh.
It's hard to say at this point. I don't know what's real or not real. And that's just the way I like it.'

~'It isn't long before the blackness comes back. I welcome it with open arms. I sing to it, I croon to it, I cradle it in my arms. I do whatever the fuck I want to do to it because it's blackness, the darkest of nights, and it doesn't care. If I am alone in the dark, nothing matters. I can't hurt anyone but myself and I fucking deserve it.
I close my eyes and let the darkness cradle me. It can fuck me for all I care.'
