Of Blood and Bone by Courtney Cole TOP QUOTES

I absolutely loved Of Blood and Bone, so I wanted to give you a little taste. I asked Courtney to give me her favorite quotes from the book, because I simply had too many. Check this out and tell me what YOU think! (Be advised that this is an ADULT book 18+ older)

Top Quotes
“I’m a monster, Eva. There is no saving a monster. But I love that you want to try.”
My heart constricts at the expression on his face. He has no hope for himself, so I have to hope for him.
“You’re not a monster,” I argue softly. “You’re a man, Luca. A man like any other, you’re made of blood and bone.”—Eva and Luca

* * *
“No. I’m not afraid of you, mother. Is there a reason why I should be?”
As soon as I ask the question, as soon as the words pass my lips, I know it was a mistake. A light ignites in her eyes, an eerie, unnatural light, and I unconsciously lean away from her.
“Why, yes,” she answers. “Yes, there is, Lukey. You should always fear me because I know what you are.” -- Luca and his mother, Melina

* * *
I eat more breadsticks than I know what to do with. Adrian laughs because I’m so skinny but can apparently eat my weight in bread.
“I don’t know where you put it all, Eve,” he tells me, his eyes sparkling.
“My name isn’t Eve,” I tell him. “It’s Eva.”
“I know,” he answers. “But you are beautiful enough that you could tempt me into anything, even eating from the Tree of Life. So to me, you will always be Eve.”
“I don’t know if that’s a compliment,” I tell him and I know my cheeks are flushed from the wine. “You’re comparing me to someone who was the fall of mankind.”
He laughs and lifts his wineglass. “Here’s to temptation.”—Eva and Adrian

* * *
“Aren’t you going to ask?” he says as he sets the glasses down on a heavy wooden side table. He is still staring at me and his gaze makes me feel like my skin will be ablaze soon.
“Ask what?” I feel slightly woozy already from the Scotch. And to be honest, I’m also woozy from being so near to Luca Minaldi. For several different reasons, he has an interesting effect on me.
“Wouldn’t you like to ask if you’re safe here with me?”
I look at him, remembering his mother’s startling words. My son is evil.
“Am I?” I ask and my voice is barely a murmur.
“Probably not.” --- Eva and Luca

* * *
“Did I ever tell you thank you for lunch?” I ask. He smiles, his grin full of something delightfully wicked.
“Nope. But I know a way you can show me.”
I smile back. “Is that so?”
He nods seriously. “Absolutely.”
“And how is that?”
He grins wickedly now. “Well, first you put your hand here.” And he lifts my hand, settling in onto his crotch, which grows instantly hard beneath my fingers. I quirk an eyebrow, then grin.
“And then what?”
“Use your imagination,” he whispers into my ear as he nips at my earlobe. – Eva and Luca
