I'm excited to share with you another amazing review by my friend Erin. I have this book on the Kindle to read, but Erin got to it before I could. Based on her review, it sounds like it's a must read ASAP! Check it out!
Four years ago, Jocelyn Butler left her tragic past behind in the States and started over in Edinburgh. Burying the grief, ignoring her demons, and forging ahead without any real attachments has worked well for her so far but when Joss moves into a fantastic apartment on Dublin Street, her carefully guarded world is shaken to its core by her new roommate's sexy older brother.
Braden Carmichael is a man who always gets what he wants. And what he wants is Jocelyn in his bed. Knowing how skittish Joss is concerning any kind of relationship, Braden proposes a sexual arrangement that should satisfy the intense attraction between them without it developing into anything 'more'. An intrigued Jocelyn agrees, completely unprepared for the Scotsman and his single-minded determination to strip the stubborn young woman bare... to the very soul.

ERIN's Take:
Holy smoking-hot Scottish boy with an attitude, this one leaves you breathless!! I read the blurb on this one and couldn't wait to get my hands on it, and it absolutely lived up to my expectations and then some! Samantha Young, an author whose very popular YA books I have been meaning to check out for quite some time, has broken out into the adult fiction genre and undoubtedly left her mark!!I absolutely loved Braden from the moment he's introduced; he's clearly the typical rich, cocky, sexy stud, and the humor he finds in Jocelyn's quirky behavior was so endearing. As he fights her at every turn, determined to barrel his way into her life as only he knows how, my memories of Christian Grey were happily stirred up and I was falling for this guy hard!! He puts up with a LOT from Jocelyn, who has a laundry list of issues thanks to a past she can't let go of, and it just solidified his place in my heart when he stubbornly refused to let her keep pushing him away. I loved the change in Jocelyn as she slowly let down her walls to Braden, it was just the perfect transition in their relationship. But she was so determined to do things her way (to the point of utter frustration at times), and there were moments I wanted to just slap her!! Where she had happiness and love, she ran from it and pushed it away when she let fear get the best of her, and there were some seriously heart-wrenching twists that I wasn't expecting!
The chemistry between Braden and Jocelyn was off-the-charts smoking hot pretty much from the very start!! Whenever they were around each other, it was like this charge was in the air and it just consumed both of them regardless of what or who was around. As the tension built up over each encounter, I was so hooked to this story it was painful to put it down!! I absolutely loved the plot, but I must give credit to Young for the incredible job she did here with the pulse-racing tension and the "someone fan me, please!" steamy scenes! You'd never know by reading this story that Young had never ventured into the adult romance genre, and I'll go out on a limb and say it's better than many I've read in the past. From the little teases to the moments they finally give in to the smoldering passion, Young has your heart racing and your mind wishing you could pick up and move to Scotland in the hopes of finding your very own Braden Carmichael!! I was definitely impressed!!
The supporting characters in this book were also great, and Ellie even had her own story going on slightly out of the spotlight. It was really sweet to Braden and Jocelyn's too-hot-to-handle, so there was a great balance across the characters. I loved Braden and Ellie's family, too, they were so caring and they were just a nice break from all the drama going on. You can't help but wish that kind of family support and love for Jocelyn as she struggles with the fortress around her heart; her past was so heartbreaking, and if anyone deserved to find happiness it was this poor girl!
On Dublin Street is getting 5 enthusiastic stars from me, and I highly recommend this one to the romance fans out there. I think it's safe to say we can expect some very good things if Samantha Young decides to try her hand at another in this genre in the future!!
As always....THANKS ERIN!
