Summary:
Her dreams brought them together, but reality could tear them apart…The man of Zoe Morgan’s dreams isn’t only real, he’s interested. In her. But her boss wants her too, and is leveraging his unsolicited advances with the threat of blocking the huge promotion she's after. When he places a spy on her research team, the intense stranger discovers more than he should, and Zoe fears hiding a relationship with Gavin Cassidy from her boss is the least of her worries. The whale she must protect has been marked for death, and Zoe's old enemy Scarlet is eager to deliver the killing blow. To both of them.
Australia’s Sentinels must find and lock the door into the Dreaming before Fyre Elementals launch another attack on innocent dreamers. But corruption and distrust abound, and Gavin believes someone on the Sentinel council is in league with the Fyres. As he reluctantly embraces his new role as council leader, Gavin must not only keep Zoe safe from Scarlet's vengeful clutches, but organize a Sentinel defense strong enough to prevent a full-blown Elemental war—with a traitor fighting by his side.

My Take:
This is such a gorgeous series. From the covers to the very last sentence, this series has me captivated. After the first book, Inhale, I was worried how Zoe and Gavin would make it in the real world. Their relationship certainly faces many trials.
I have to say that Zoe got on my nerves at the beginning of the book. I love her, so that's what it was so irritating to me. So, I called on my pal Andrea to reassure me that Zoe finds her way. I really hate doing that, but my stomach was in knots. Gavin is just so attentive to her and really tries hard to win her over, so I hurt for him. Her resistance was understandable. Truly, I get it. I would certainly be hesitant to get involved with a rock star. Not to mention her issue with their age difference or the fact that he's a Sentinel. In a perfect fantasy world though, I would literally jump Gavin and never let go.
Slutty Scarlet is back on the prowl, creating chaos once again. I have seriously never hated a character more than I hate her. I really didn't think it was possible to like her less, but she does it. I can't wait to see her demise.
We get to see a little more of Sinnder in this book. I love him. I mean, he's not really a good guy, but I think there is going to be a big story there. Sinnder is dark, gritty, and incredibly sexy. He's definitely more than meets the eye. I have Stifle, which is a feature of Sinnder and I've heard incredible things about it. I can't wait to read it.
More questions are answers and mysteries revealed in this installment of the Just Breathe Trilogy. The ending left me in tears. I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning to finish it. It's the type of story that you can't put down. You HAVE to know what is going to happen next. Kendall Grey has such a creative mind and clearly draws a picture with her words.
If you are looking for a steamy read that is not only imaginitive, but tells a wonderful story of life, love, friendship, salvation, and balance, this is a great book for you. Even if you aren't a fan of Urban Fantasy, you should test this one out. It's truly a fantastic story and I can't wait for the final book, Just Breathe, to release! HURRY UP KENDALL!
Great review! I totally understand where you're coming from with Zoe - I felt the same way & confess to skipping forward a bit to reassure myself :)
ReplyDeleteAs for Scarlet; OMG I wanted to drown her so much!
This is such an amazingly original series & Stifle continues that. Sinnder's book is written in a very clever way & is soooo raunchy!
Oh, I am soooo happy you loved Exhale. I was happy to reassure you. I'm pretty sure I messaged Kendall to get some reassurances myself. And isn't the ending just absolutely heartbreaking?? Gah!! And Jack! I loved Jack! And duuuude, have you read Stifle yet? Holy Eff, that shizz is through the roof. As for Slutty Scarlett, I'm sure the universe will hear our collective cheer when that bitch gets hers.
ReplyDeleteNice review, luv!
I love this series!! I am so glad that you are enjoying it!! I can't wait for Just Breathe either!! Fantastic review chick!!
ReplyDeleteOh I'm glad you liked this one. Haven't got to it but I may need that emotional support till Zoe get's her head straight - or Andrea. I struggle with chicks that let some hang-up keep them from Mr. Perfect <---hehe.
ReplyDeleteNice review, girl

See, I'm a complete lunatic and I can't read this one because there is a whale marked for death. Whether it actually dies or not, I'll be sobbing.
