Today I'm featuring one of my all-time favorite books, Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire. I've read this book at least 4 times now. The first time I read it was at the end of last year. I had just started blogging and this book seriously blew me away. So, it's with pleasure that I can participate in the celebration of the re-release of this fantastic book with Atria Books. (NEW YORK) – July 2012. Atria Books has announced a two book deal with bestselling self-published author Jamie McGuire. BEAUTIFUL DISASTER, the first book in the deal, will be released immediately as an Atria e-book with an Atria trade paperback edition to follow on August 14th.

Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire-Adult Contemporary Romance
Kindle format purchased on Amazon. Originally read/reviewed in November 2011.

One word to describe my feelings about this book: OBSESSED. I love this book every time I re-read it! I literally couldn't put the book down the first time I read it and finished it in one night. The title describes the book accurately. This story is different than anything that I've read. It's not your typical girl meets bad boy scenario. Abby and Travis have a passionate, dysfunctional, explosive, yet endearing relationship that you can't help but become consumed by. Jamie McGuire sucks you into this phenomenal story and takes you on a wild ride. 

Abby Abernathy starts college with one goal in mind: a brand new start. She wants to leave her old life behind and her best friend, America, is there to help her. I loved the relationship Abby had with America. They really looked out for each other and had a genuine friendship. As she and America settle in to college life, Abby didn't expect to meet the campus bad boy and fall for him. I really fell in love with Abby and Travis. Even after reading this book 4 times, I still get frustrated with Abby, but I do understand her. 

Travis Maddox. Just saying his name makes me SWOON. Travis is a tough guy, but he's also smart. He makes his living at night in a college fight ring and spends his days as a college co-ed. He is the object of desire for all the ladies on campus. He's covered in tattoos and gives off a devil may care attitude. That is, until he meets Abby. I don't think he ever expected to fall for Abby. After a few rounds of serious flirtation, Travis makes a bet with Abby. When Abby loses the bet, both of their lives are changed forever. I loved seeing how their relationship developed. You can literally feel their passion for each other and there is such a deep connection between these characters that you can't help but root for them. 

I am such an enormous fan of Beautiful Disaster and am thrilled to share my love for this book. Not only is Beautiful Disaster among the top five books I recommend, but the book and Travis are among the top all-time searches leading to my blog. That makes me do a happy dance every time I see it. 

Jamie McGuire has created a work of art. She's developed an addictive story and truly memorable characters. I look forward to  Jamie's future projects. When I found out there was going to be a book written in Travis' perspective, I nearly fell off the couch. I'd also like to see more of the Maddox Brothers. After I read Walking Disaster of course!
