Silent Song by Ron C. Nieto-YA Fantasy Romance
Kindle format given by author for review/blog tour
Summary:The princess of the school, Alice, is keeping a secret that could strip her of her high school fame. She is obsessed with the school’s outcast, Keith, but not just him – his music.
Since the inspiration for the song hit, Keith can’t get it out of his mind. The song must be played; it demands to be played. He knows the music is changing him, but he is unable to stop it.
Music has the ability to move you, enlighten you, and take you to places you have never dreamed of. And this particular piece? It has a life of its own and makes you forget who you really are.
As Keith and Alice learn of one another to the notes of that one perfect tune, they can overlook their roles and discover who they could be together. But they also discover someone else is listening and intends on keeping Keith to herself, possibly for an eternity.
This is a debut novel for Ron C. Nieto and I felt that it was well done. I was interested in participating in the tour for a few reasons. I love music and add in a love story, I'm in heaven.
What I like about the book:
-The history of Alice and Keith's friendship.
-Alice followed her heart, despite what her friends thought.
-The concept of music pulling them back into each other's lives.
-The development of their relationship was endearing and sweet.
The only thing I would say that kept me from rating it a full 4 is that the ghost or spirit influence in the story, felt a bit rushed in the end. I felt that there wasn't that much build up into that part in the story. Maybe I just had a different expectation. It seemed more about the relationship between Alice and Keith. Although, I honestly didn't mind that. In fact, the relationship was what I enjoyed the most about the book.
