Kindle format given by author for review/blog tour

Summary:
Julia Phillips is suffering from survivor remorse after losing her friend in a car accident. Julia believes that she caused the accident killing her friend. The strange thing is that she has no memory of what happened. Since the accident, she dreams of her friend Monica and has memories that don't make sense. Then there's Evan. Before the accident Evan never gave Julia the time of day. He's popular, has  a girlfriend, and is a star athlete. Now, he seems to be completely into her. Because she's fallen behind in her school work since the accident, Evan is assigned as her tutor. She doesn't understand why, but Evan seems to have developed strong feelings for her. Then, the police come looking for Evan, but she hasn't seen him all day. He finally contacts her and she agrees to meet him. Never did she expect to run with him and be taken into the unknown.

My Take:
When I first started reading this book, I thought I had an idea of where the story was going. Boy, was I wrong. I really enjoyed reading something fresh. This story is a littel different than anything that I've read.  I immediately sympathized with Julia's character. I can't imagine losing a friend. However, I didn't feel very connected to any of the characters. This story is heavier on plot development rather than character development. I appreciated the twists and turns the story took though and am curious to see how the story continues. 4 out of 5 stars

  1. I love when I start a story and it doesn't play out like I thought.

  2. I was also surprised by the plot. I was so sure HERE was headed in a completely different direction. I loved what happened. And yeah, I didn't have a huge connection to the characters, either. Overall, though, I enjoyed the book.
